What is the Southern Tasmania Regional Land Use Strategy?
The Southern Tasmania Regional Land Use Strategy (STRLUS) is one of three regional land use strategies in Tasmania. The STRLUS is a key planning tool that includes long-term planning directions for the Southern Tasmania region, influencing land use and development and providing a critical link between State and local strategic planning within the region.

Where does the Southern Tasmania Regional Land Use Strategy apply?
The STRLUS applies in the Southern Tasmania region, which is formed by the following council areas:
- Brighton
- Central Highlands
- Clarence
- Derwent Valley
- Glamorgan Spring-Bay
- Glenorchy
- Hobart
- Huon Valley
- Kingborough
- Sorell
- Southern Midlands and
- Tasman.
Why is the Southern Tasmania Land Use Strategy being reviewed?
The STRLUS is a key element of the Tasmanian Planning System and should be regularly and periodically reviewed.
