Congratulations to SPO’s Senior Planning Adviser, Angela Forrest, who won the inaugural Planning Institute (Tasmania) of Australia Women in Planning Award for Excellence 2025.
The Award celebrates Angela’s outstanding contributions and leadership in Tasmanian planning within the past 12–24 months. The Award also highlights Angela’s achievements in advocating for and creating more inclusive and equitable planning outcomes for women and the broader community. Judges commended her efforts in creating a culture of mentorship, empowering women to take on leadership positions and advocating for workplace flexibility.
Angela has been a driving force in shaping planning policy and regional land use strategies in Tasmania. She has played a crucial role in coordinating cross-agency working groups, fostering stronger collaboration between local and state governments, and advocating for evidence-based planning policy.
The SPO would like to thank Angela for all her efforts and hard work. She is an inspiration to us all.
